Located fifteen minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Mill Valley, Mount Tamalpais School (MTS) is a k-8 co-educational independent day school serving 240 students. Mount Tamalpais School seeks a full-time 7th and 8th Grade English Teacher starting August, 2022. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a B.A./B.S. in a relevant field. A successful candidate in this position will:
- Exhibit a passion for content knowledge and a range of effective pedagogical approaches for the subject and age group.
- Demonstrate commitment to equitable and culturally responsive teaching practices
- Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment that reflects the MTS values and allows a diverse student body to grow and thrive
- Integrate technology in effective ways that enhances students’ learning experiences and growth
- Possess a growth mindset and commitment to personal and professional development
- Serve as an advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students and community building
- Communicate with students and families regularly through school platforms and email.
- Support grade-level events including outdoor education
- Bring skills to contribute to our rich programming outside of the classroom (e.g. sponsoring a club, leading an outdoor education trip, etc.)
