JOB OVERVIEW
This 7-8 hour/day position, late August through mid-June (10 months), works in partnership with and assists the preschool teachers in the daily operation of the preschool (ages 3-5+). Under the direction of the certificated classroom teacher or Lead Teacher for the preschool program, the successful applicant will work with students, in addition to performing a variety of other needed support. Duties vary widely and include instructional work with individuals, small groups and whole class, clerical and administrative tasks, creation of materials, supervision of preschool recess, lunch, assisting in preschool extended day (1:30-3:00 p.m.) or all-school early morning extended day (7:00 - 8:00 a.m.) and/or other duties as needed. In addition to work in the classroom, all instructional assistants attend in-service days, faculty/staff meetings, appropriate training sessions, and participate in many all-school events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Early Childhood/Community College and/or University degree;
- Experience in working with young children;
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Villa Academy;

Prerequisite to Employment:
- Prior to the first day of employment, a copy of your original Social Security card, driver’s license or passport, and verification of negative TB test and measles immunity will need to be provided. Additionally, all preschool employees must have completed the state DCYF training requirements including. 30 Hours Basic STARS course, BBP/HIV/AIDS online training, First Aid/CPR/AED Course (if needed) will need to be completed within 45 days of employment.
