Middle School Mathematics Teacher—Leave Replacement
Trevor Day School seeks candidates for a full-time leave replacement for a Middle School mathematics teacher and advisor position during the fall semester (September–January) of the 2022–2023 school year.
Responsibilities include teaching 7th-grade mathematics to the entire grade. The curriculum during the fall semester encompasses pre-algebra and algebra topics for both grade-level and accelerated classes. In addition, the person filling this role will serve as an advisor to a group of approximately 10 Middle School students. Responsibilities of the advisor include individual meetings with advisees, running advisory group meetings, and functioning as the primary school contact for those students’ families, including at family conferences.
Qualifications include:
- Experience teaching mathematics in a school setting
- Familiarity with and commitment to inquiry-based learning
- Passion for the subject matter
- Varied methods of teaching, assessing student learning, and providing effective feedback
- Interest in working with Middle School students in a collaborative environment
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and their families
- Interest in professional growth and school-wide initiatives
