Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a Part-time Biology teacher for its Upper School division (grades 9-12) starting in the 2022/23 school year.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach both introductory and advanced levels of Biology. The successful candidate will be a constructive collaborator with other teachers, have a sense of humor, enjoy working with all members of an educational community, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. An appreciation for the School’s commitment to academic and personal excellence, Quaker values, equity, justice, service, and students’ social emotional wellness is also essential.
The most desirable candidates will also be able to demonstrate proficiency using digital and online platforms for remote instruction as well as proven effectiveness as a classroom teacher in a brick-and-mortar setting.
An undergraduate degree in Biology (or a related discipline) is required; a graduate degree is preferred. Prior teaching experience in Biology is also required.
Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires teaching in person. This position begins in August 2022.
