The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of close to 1000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Our vibrant learning environment draws students from all over the city. Admission to the school is competitive and both our parents and students value achievement and community.
Berkeley Carroll seeks an experienced full-time Operations Assistant for the 2022-23 school year starting July 1, 2022 to support the Director of Operations in all school daily operating activities, including rentals, transportation, auxiliary programs and food service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage bookings from outside rental groups
- Support transportation program including:
- Updating daily schedule of bus route attendance lists
- Assisting with morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, and bus unloading and loading
- Assist with lunch program coordination and communication with families
- Support auxiliary programming (afterschool and summer programs)
- Collaborates in problem solving with various constituencies
- Engage with students in conjunction with operational responsibilities
- Communicate with parents in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner
- Provide other administrative support to operations team as needed
Required Experience:
- Must be proficient with all forms of electronic communication
- Highly skilled in Excel and Google forms and sheets
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain professionalism in a changing environment
- Comfort interacting regularly with students and parents
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- A desire to be a part of a warm, engaging school community
- Ability to stay on task despite changing priorities and disruption
- Prior operations experience preferred
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
