Leave Replacement Technology Teacher
CGPS seeks an outstanding, student-focused Technology Teacher to join our technology team for a one-year leave replacement. This person will be responsible for teaching 7th Grade Technology classes, as well as high school electives in 3D Modeling and Printing, Intro to Programming, and/or App Design.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach 7th Grade Technology classes.
- Work closely with the Middle School STEAM coordinator and 7th Grade science teachers to develop a strong curriculum.
- Teach high school electives in 3D Modeling and Printing, Intro to Programming, and/or App Design.
- Run the Robotics Jr club and participate in competitions.
- Execute effective classroom management.
- Provide faculty, students, and staff with guidance on using educational technology.
- Collaborate with faculty in other departments to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary projects.

Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity or interest in some or all of the following: 3D Modeling Software (i.e. SketchUp, Blender), p5.js, Python, Javascript, Swift, Vex Robotics, Arduino or other hardware platforms.
- Experience teaching in a classroom setting.
- Passionate about encouraging young people to take on complex and challenging ideas.
- An intellectual curiosity, an aptitude for learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A demonstrated ability to innovate, problem solve and create original curriculum.
- Experience with troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues relevant to classroom technology and STEAM education
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills and a desire to work with a team.
