7th/8th Grade Science Teacher
Job Announcement for 2022-23 school year
Seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented educator to join The Wesley School in the position of 7th and 8th grade science teacher. The Science Teacher will teach two sections of 7th grade life science and two sections of 8th grade physical science, plus serve as a middle school advisor for 10-12 students.
The Science Teacher will report to the Assistant Head for Academics and will work closely with the 7th and 8th grade teaching teams, as well as the Middle School Learning Specialist and the School Counselors. This teacher will also accompany students on outdoor education trips; will participate in regular supervision duties, study halls, and after school extra help sessions; faculty meetings; and professional development.

There is considerable flexibility in teaching topics and methodologies within courses aligned with best practices and the NGSS.

The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree and/or additional years teaching preferred)
- 3 years teaching experience, ideally in an independent school setting
- Experience or strong familiarity with the Google suite, Google Classroom, and Smartboard technology.
