Moravian Academy is seeking an engaging, dynamic, and innovative mathematics teacher to join the department as a full time faculty member. This full time faculty member will be responsible for designing and implementing 4 sections of Upper School math courses, potentially Algebra 2 and Geometry. This teacher will lead an advisory group of students and make a significant contribution to student life as a fifth responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead teacher for Algebra 2 and Geometry and collaborating teacher within the curricular sequence through Calculus BC (AP) and Linear Algebra;
- Support and further enhance the department’s high expectations for academic performance, intellectual inquiry, and personal growth for all students in each course;
- Lead math colleagues in designing and implementing flexible, student-centered lesson planning to accommodate the rotating 8-day schedule in the Upper School;
- Facilitate hands on exploration, student collaboration and problem solving; integrate student-centered pedagogical practices into the curriculum;
- Create meaningful partnerships with parents and families, including regular
communications through school-supplied online tools, emails, and phone calls.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a math-related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred;
- Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred;
- Preference will be given to applicants with a previous experience in independent schools or similar college-preparatory programs;
- Proficiency in digital educational technologies.

- Interested and experienced in leading curriculum refinement and collaborative professional development within a department;
- Confident and comfortable leading peers, particularly with designing creative, flexible lesson plans for a contemporary daily schedule;

- Collaborates with faculty and students at Moravian Academy;
- Engages in the community life of the school, including attending various co-curricular events;

Moravian Academy, located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is a PK through 12th grade coeducational college preparatory school and the ninth oldest independent school in the United States.
