Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a part-time English teacher for its Upper School division starting in the 2022/23 school year.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and will show a willingness to work collaboratively and independently in an environment committed to academic excellence, equity, justice, service, and students’ social emotional wellness.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in English (a master’s is preferred). A deep understanding of American, British, and Anglophone literature is required. An appreciation for adolescents and a sense of humor are also essential.
Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires teaching in person. This position begins in August 2022.
