Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Integration Coordinator
Westtown School is searching for a Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Integration Coordinator to begin in August 2022. The Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Integration Coordinator will be highly collaborative and innovative, with experience, understanding, and enthusiasm in the areas of technology integration and computer science. Reporting to the Lower and Middle School Principals, the Coordinator will work closely with faculty to ensure that Westtown students will flourish in a world marked by technological and social change. The coordinator will partner with the principals and faculty to help students develop the tools they will need to navigate the future, honing the essential human skills of critical thinking, communication, and empathy and that teaches students how to use technology mindfully, so that they develop positive self-images, healthy relationships, and strong community ties.
Experience with and understanding of lower and middle school-aged learners is essential.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Integration Coordinator will:
- Collaborate with principals and academic leaders to strengthen and build an engaging K-8 academic technology and Computer Science program;
- Support Lower School teachers’ in teaching computing education skills and using digital tools to support student learning;
- Teach one 8th grade computing education course and one semester long elective;
- Develop culturally competent and responsive lessons and learning activities that promote problem-solving, creative thinking, collaboration, and effective communication skills while encouraging risk-taking in learning;
- Partner with faculty to support the new Chromebook pilot program;
- Consult with Lower and Middle School classroom teachers on project development and best practices for technology integration;
- Assistant coach the Middle School robotics team;
- Supervise the creation of the digital Middle School yearbook;
- Supervise/facilitate divisional duties (e.g., study hall, recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal).
- Contribute to building and sustaining an inclusive community and a program which reflects diverse cultures and perspectives;
- Enthusiastically seek out and participate in both school-sponsored and self-selected professional development opportunities to grow as an instructional leader and community member;
- Communicate effectively with all constituents – students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- Related experience working with lower and/or middle schoolers;
- Experience and understanding of ISTE standards and educational technology models;
- Expertise in computational thinking (coding, robotics);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- A demonstrated commitment to using technology to enhance an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices;
- A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with all constituents throughout our diverse community;
- Strong affinity for the mission of Westtown School and an educational philosophy consistent with the school’s Quaker values.
