Assistant or Associate Director of College Counseling and Academic Dean
Berkeley invites applicants for a full-time twelve-month faculty position as an assistant or associate Director of College Counseling and Academic Dean for grades 11 and 12. We seek a candidate who will guide our students in all aspects of the college search and admission process. The college counselor will work with upper division students and their parents, supporting them throughout the college selection and application process.
The ideal candidate will also oversee the academic progress of their assigned group of students as the students move through junior and senior years. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Experience in college counseling and/or selective college admissions is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; familiarity with goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school; the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student population; knowledge of colleges, their academic programs, admissions policies, and financial aid policies and procedures; exemplary writing skills; prior experience writing letters of recommendation preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
The appointment will begin July 2022 and is a full-time position with full benefits. The compensation package will be very competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and the national independent school and college markets.
