Position Summary
The Pingry School seeks a talented and dynamic Assistant Director of Communications, Multimedia to join a diverse academic community. This position would start in our new fiscal year on July 1, 2022. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, communications, and design. This position reports directly to the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the schools’ communication team channel and deliver compelling and informative content that enhances the schools’ visibility and relationships with all constituents. A person with consistently high standards, the Multimedia Marketing Manager will design, build and maintain the Pingry.org website. They will also plan for, create, and execute all content for Pingry’s social media accounts. They will work with the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing on the strategy and execution of these tasks, in coordination with the overarching Pingry School Brand.
Responsibilities:
Website – www.pingry.org and all subpages
- Work with the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing on website redesign every 3-5 years
- Refresh, and oversee the visual design of the website on a regular basis
- Create content for the website
- Work with various constituents to promote improvement and guide updates throughout the website
- Use digital stats and analytics to inform our strategy/planning
- SEO: report out weekly to the communications team on SEO performance
- Monitor area schools for competitive analysis
Graphic Design
- Design a wide variety of materials across digital and offline media
- Curate visual design content that tells engaging stories that reinforce the schools’ brand voice and messaging strategy, in coordination with all other communications
- Plan concepts by studying relevant information and materials
- Illustrate concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size, and style and submitting them for approval
- Create a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
Photography and Videography Coordination
- Manage all-school photography
- Capture photo and video content of School events and student life for use in School communications and publications
- Photo or video editing as needed
Auxiliary (Pingry Summer and Rentals) Marketing Support
- Webpage: Provide strategic direction on Pingry Summer website (outward-facing design, messaging identity, visual identity)
- Liaise with outside vendors to manage SEO
- Social Media: Manage Pingry Summer's social media account
- Create social media content for posting to the @pingrysummer account
- Maintain social media calendar of content, in coordination with other authorized school accounts
- Manage marketing emails to strategically promote areas of need
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
- Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience creating and executing Social Media Strategies / Campaigns
- Background in Finalsite, Veracross, Bynder, YouTube, and Hootsuite
- Proficient in Photography and Video production and editing
- Ability to navigate the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated to working cooperatively with other team members
- Robust interpersonal skills
