The Dalton School, a progressive independent K-12 coeducational school in Manhattan, seeks a Middle School (Grades 4-8) Office Manager.
The Middle School Office Manager is responsible for managing the administrative processes of the divisional office, supporting the Director and Assistant Directors, coordinating events, and serving as a liaison to all constituencies, especially parents, faculty and staff. An essential component of the role is that of public relations and communications for the division. A vital member of the administrative team, the Middle School Office Manager coordinates divisional events with the administrative team and arranges all Divisional meetings and events in collaboration with the other divisions.
The primary functions of the Middle School Office Manager are:
Communication
Family Communication
- Design and manage PA presentation materials
- Maintain parental learning management system updates in Blackbaud
- Coordinate content for all family facing communications
- Schedule family meetings for division
Faculty Communication
- Maintain faculty learning management system updates
- Coordinate content for all faculty facing communications
Student Communication
- Coordinate content for all student facing communications
Middle School Resource Page
- Manage Resource Page
- Coordinate with AD for Operations on information posted
School-Wide Communications
- Collaborate with Communications office on managing division-focused content
Department Communication Support
- Work with AD for Faculty and Curriculum and Department Directors/Chairs and Grade Level Chairs/Coordinators to support their communication needs, especially to families and students.
Calendar, Schedule and Events
Calendar
- Coordinate calendar of MS Director and Assistant Directors
- Work with AD for Faculty & Curriculum on hiring schedules
- Manage division calendar on all-school calendar and attend annual calendar meetings
Events
- Manage all aspects of events, including but not limited to: communication, name tags, catering/food, decorations, room locations invitations
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Facility with event planning and calendar management
- Warm, engaging oral and written communication skills
- Fluency with technology and comfort with new technology
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and proven success working collaboratively
- Eagerness to engage in professional development
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Experience in working directly with children (professional or volunteer basis) is a plus
