Job Title: Associate Director of Development/Capital Campaign Manager

Reports to: Director of Development
Summary:
King seeks an Associate Director of Development/Capital Campaign Manager who will serve as a critical member of the Development team. This individual’s primary responsibility will be working closely with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and Director of Development to oversee and manage the upcoming capital campaign. Additionally, the role will involve direct cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of a portfolio of prospects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of King’s capital campaign including: planning, creating materials, managing the pipeline of donors, working with volunteers, and creating reports for the Head of School and Board of Trustees.
- Manage a portfolio of constituents including current parents, alumni, trustees and former trustees.
- Support the Board of Trustees and Head of School with their cultivation and solicitation assignments.
- Help organize in-person and virtual (if necessary) cultivation events for the Board, Head of School and Director of Development.
- Work with the Manager of Advancement Services to create Board reports and revenue tracking for Development Committee and Board of Trustee meetings.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Advancement Services to create an intentional and strategic methodology to research new prospects and existing donors.
- Design personalized stewardship opportunities for current donors.
- Recruit, train, and manage the capital campaign committee.
- Create agendas, updates and reports for the campaign chairs and campaign meetings.
- Work closely with the Communications Department to design King-branded campaign materials and create a timeline of campaign communications.
- Partner with the Communications Department to develop strong and consistent marketing and communications strategies.
- Draft talking points for the Board Chair and Head of School for events.
- Prepare volunteers for solicitations by providing background information and solicitation materials.
- Work with the entire Development team to coordinate the proper timing and/or comprehensive “asks” for leadership donors.
- Attend cultivation and stewardship events.
- Perform other duties as required by the Head of School and Director of Development.
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Advanced skills with Raiser’s Edge (RE), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google, and Word.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in capital campaign management.
- Experience managing a pipeline of high net worth individuals.
- Involvement in direct solicitation of leadership gifts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to attend some evening and weekend events.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently to accomplish departmental and individual goals.
