Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. The Middle School STEAM and Design program is looking for a part-time teacher to join our STEAM team. The ideal candidate has a background in engineering and making with a particular focus on the prototyping and iteration phase of the design cycle.
Candidates should demonstrate a facility with scoping and scaffolding this process for Middle School students. Knowledge of drafting, 3D modeling, and fabrication on computer-assisted and basic power tools is desired. Candidates should also be familiar with the FLL Lego Robotics competition and capable of supporting teams through robotic design and programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares course objectives and outlines for courses of study in conjunction with other Middle School faculty, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
- Effectively incorporates principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching and classroom culture
- Attends training, professional development and education in antiracism, diversity, equity and inclusion
- Communicates effectively with parents in a timely manner
- Leads parent-teacher conferences
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Two or more years of teaching experience required. Middle school experience preferred
- Strong sense of humor, flexibility and desire to work with middle-school students is required
- Belief in the critical importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in the life of a school so as to foster a sense of belonging
- Proficient use of technology is necessary
- Must be able to work on campus, for in-person learning

The Middle School STEAM and Robotics Teacher will teach three (3) sections, not eligible for the full benefits package. However, Pace offers a generous retirement plan and match for part-time employees.
