The Upper Division Science Department is seeking a Lab Manager to support student laboratory work across the biology curriculum to start in the 2022-23 school year. Currently, biology courses include 9th Grade Introductory Biology, Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology, and Anatomy and Physiology. The responsibilities of the Lab Manager include preparation of student lab activities and the management and maintenance of materials and equipment. In addition, the Lab Manager will have substantial interaction with students during labs, and in supporting independent research and supervising a student research space. As a member of the Biology Team, the Lab Manager will potentially teach one section of Introductory Biology.
Candidates must have a college degree and experience working in a biology lab as an advanced student, teacher, technician, or researcher, and be familiar with the experimental techniques used in introductory and advanced high- school courses. This position requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. As an integral member of the Biology team, the candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with other members of the Science Department. The candidate should also demonstrate a passion for experimental science, and have an interest in working with high school students.
