St. Francis School is a co-ed, secular, Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition that is committed to equity and justice and located in Louisville, Kentucky. Our campuses are in two locations – Goshen (Preschool - 8th) and Downtown (High School). We have a comprehensive learning center to support student needs on both campuses. We seek a full-time Academic Support Specialist to serve the Downtown Campus beginning in the 2022-23 school year. This is a full-time, salaried position. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least a bachelor’s degree, the ability to coach students on writing/long-term projects, experience in working with students with learning differences, and ideally some background in math. A passion for working with high school students as well as dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence are also essential. The position will involve coaching students in organizational management and executive functioning skills, tutoring students in specific content areas, and supporting students’ general academic needs. Additionally, some administrative duties will be required under the direction of the Director of the Learning Center. We seek an independent self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively. Hours during the school year are approximately 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., which includes supervising our after-school Homework Hall; summer hours vary, but will include leading two weeks of summer academic camp.
