The Quaker School at Horsham (TQS) is seeking for a full-time social worker for the 2022-23 school year.
TQS uses research-based programs provided by compassionate professionals to enable each student with complex challenges to blossom and achieve meaningful personal, social and academic success. Our compassionate community builds trusting relationships among students, parents, therapists, faculty and staff.
The students at TQS in grades K-12 have struggled in traditional schools and come with a pressing need for a safe learning environment where they can confidently face the challenges of learning. These students have a mix of disabilities: ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, expressive and receptive language disorders and anxiety disorders. At TQS, we use the latest findings from educational research to guide our curriculum and nurture our students’ inherent curiosity and desire to learn.

TQS is seeking a full-time (10-month) social worker to provide comprehensive support services to students with complex disabilities with an emphasis on creating and delivering the school’s Social Development curriculum.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned Social Development content to students in grades K-8, develop lesson plans, establish class activities, routines and procedures to provide for the optimal learning of all students.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure social skills are integrated throughout all areas of the curriculum.
- Collaborate as an active member of the clinical services team, including attendance at all requested meetings.
- Address barriers while providing support so that students receive the full benefit of their educational experience.
- Assist students in facing behavioral and social challenges.
- Implement positive behavioral interventions in the classroom.
- Create and facilitate small group activities such as lunch bunches and clubs.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with community agencies and outside professionals.
- Case management for students and families requiring multiple resources.
- Create professional development programs for faculty.
- Recognize the need to spend time working in classrooms to understand how staff and students think and respond to social, behavioral and academic demands.

- Assist students in crisis intervention.
- Comfortable working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications: Strong commitment to the mission of TQS and love of students with special needs. Master’s degree in social work required.
