Position Description:
Friends Academy seeks an experienced Science/Chemistry/Biology/Environmental Science teacher who is excited about teaching high school students to engage in our core educational practices. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and will thrive in a vibrant educational environment, embrace change, and have a deep interest in our Quaker mission and educational philosophy.
Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned):
A Full-Time Science Teacher will also serve as an advisor for 8-10 students and support a co-curricular activity such as coaching a sport or other significant school activity. Will provide support for activities that contribute to the life of the school. Attendance at all-school and other meetings, back-to-school nights, and other events is expected of all faculty members.

Qualifications/Education:
We are looking for energetic and creative candidates who are current with best practices in science instruction, with a focus on 21st-century learning skills. An undergraduate degree in Science is required; a graduate degree in education or in a relevant discipline is preferred. Candidates should have experience with project-based teaching and learning. Successful high school teaching experience of at least three years is required which should include experience with introductory Chemistry and either Biology or Environmental Science. Interested in DEI and Identity work and development, and will uphold the organizational values. Will possess strong organizational, time management, and technology skills.
