We are looking for an Admission Associate to join our team who is enthusiastic, patient, detail-oriented, warm, friendly, and excited to learn about school administration and admissions practices. This entry-level position supports the admissions team with recruitment, events, marketing, and other aspects of enrollment management. This person is an integral part of the admissions team, and often the first point of contact for families and other constituents seeking information about College Prep. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and enjoy the challenges of working with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced environment are essential. The Admission Associate enjoys interacting with high school students and their families, and most importantly, must like and be comfortable with 8th graders! Some evening and weekend hours are required.
Responsibilities: Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plans and executes admission events, including directing parent and student volunteer support
- Assists with outreach and recruitment efforts, which may include representing College Prep during student visits, school fairs, open houses, and other information sessions that occur in-person, in virtual settings, as well as on and off-campus
- Acts as a liaison with applicants and their families throughout the application process, responding to the majority of phone inquiries and general emails
- Counsels and advises families on the admission process, our curriculum and program, and the school's mission and purpose
- Evaluates applicants through service on the Admissions Committee
- Manages online application database (Ravenna), and other data management processes
- Assures accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records for the admissions database
- Supports Associate Director of Admission with student ambassador program, including training and managing student volunteers
- Assists in planning and execution of campus visits for prospective student applicants
- Organizes and oversees mailings, correspondence, and clerical office tasks
- Provides general office support
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the admission team
Skills and Abilities Must Have
- Excellent computer skills, working knowledge of MS Word, strong Excel, and fluency in Google's suite of applications are required
- Ability to work with high school students and parent volunteers
- Strong event planning skills
- Ability to complete projects in a timely, organized fashion
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills to relate well with a broad range of constituents including students, faculty & staff, administration, parents, and the community
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Independent school experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Ravenna is preferred but not required (willing to train!)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English abilities are strongly preferred
