Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, an independent, all-girls Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, has openings for full-time faculty members in the English, Math and Science departments.
Position Description
Title: Faculty
Status: Ten-month, full-time faculty member
Responsibilities:
- Development of dynamic and comprehensive lesson plans, assignments and assessments that are aligned with the mission and values of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School
- Communication of assignments and assessments via an online grade-reporting platform
- Ongoing evaluation and updating of curricular content and materials that contribute to a holistic and globally-minded education
- Collaboration with colleagues to share best practices toward the engagement, learning, and success of all students
- Consultation with the Technology Department to integrate technological resources and varied classroom strategies that maximize student learning
- Communication with parents of students via email, telephone, individual meetings, and conferences
- Participation in an orientation program for teachers who are new to Mercy Education that expounds upon the mission and vision of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School and the Sisters of Mercy
- Completion of at least two professional development opportunities (a total of 4 hours per year - e.g. workshops, conferences, webinars, etc.)
- Participation in at least two Ministry and Service events to demonstrate active involvement in activities pertaining to the spiritual mission of the school
- Commitment to the mission and values of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, shared leadership, and collaboration among faculty colleagues and administrators
Education and Experience
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in the discipline in which they intend to teach, with a minimum of one to two years of teaching preferred.
- PA Teaching Certification preferred.
- FBI and Criminal Background clearances.
