The Bryn Mawr School seeks a Director of Human Resources to fill a newly created position.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Human Resources will be an integral member of Bryn Mawr’s collaborative administrative team. The Director of Human Resources will lead and manage all functional areas of human resources (HR) and will be responsible for developing and implementing an inclusive and equitable human resources strategy in support of the School’s strategic priorities. This role includes responsibility for compensation and benefits administration, management of the hiring process for all positions, implementation of HR policies and procedures, legal compliance and risk management and fostering a positive and productive School culture. This role requires the ability to collaborate across all School divisions and departments to build trusting relationships. Responsibilities Include:
- Developing, maintaining and updating as needed all HR policies, procedures, practices, wage and salary processes and handbooks
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state legislation, governmental and accrediting agencies
- Developing and maintaining a human resources information system
- Overseeing the administration of the School’s Property and Casualty insurance and managing Worker’s Compensation claims administration
- Serve as a fiduciary for the School’s 403(b) retirement plan
- Managing the contracting of and onboarding process for all new employees including employee benefits enrollment
Desired Qualities/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, finance, management or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of related Human Resources/Benefits experience
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment across all levels and a commitment to cultural competency
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and ability to execute multiple tasks with changing priorities
- High level of initiative and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in technology
- Familiarity with independent schools preferred
- A sense of humor, warm personality, and growth mindset
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
