POSITION SUMMARY
Greenhills School is seeking a talented, collaborative, student-centered health services coordinator and administrative coordinator. This is a combined role, serving several areas of school life, in support of all school constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and families, linking school, home, and community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Health Services Coordinator
The health services coordinator (HSC) is the primary contact for student health concerns. The HSC is a liaison between school, home, and medical providers, to assure that students are in school, ready, and able to learn:
- The HSC maintains student health records, manages prescribed medication for students, and is available during the school day to provide first aid and emergency health management and address the health needs of students with acute and chronic health conditions. In the event of a serious injury or medical emergency, first aid is administered and emergency personnel (911) are engaged and transportation to a nearby hospital is arranged. In all cases, parents are swiftly contacted.
- The HSC reviews records of entering students for immunizations, ensures all components of School health entrance requirement forms are complete, and notes health conditions documented on forms and databases.
- Oversee review of all new student health records, assuring compliance with State and School immunization requirements.
- Monitor and update demographics and other data in the health records as required, in partnership with the registrar and athletics department.
- Coordinate with a contact person for AEDs including inspection and maintenance.
- Stay abreast of MHSAA Health & Safety Policies for concussion, heat and humidity, and cardiovascular resources.
- The HSC is the primary Covid Coordinator.
- Communicating with parents and faculty regarding health concerns of the student
- Coordinates with the Director of the Learning Center and School Counselor when implementing existing student learning plans and medical plans.
- Utilization of Gryphon/Blackbaud Electronic health records
- Training of non-licensed faculty/staff on medication administration which include but are not limited to the use of EpiPens and inhalers
- Ensuring physical/health reports must be reviewed every year.
- Activity or health restrictions noted for teachers, athletics, Physical Education, and other activities and accessibility
- Medication or other issues made known to teachers/coaches before the first day of school
- Sharing information, as needed, with appropriate faculty/staff as needed for the safety and health of the student/student body
- Tracking of health trends like COVID-19, flu, or other outbreaks; including management of said outbreaks and collaboration with local health departments when needed/required
- Observation of absenteeism and management of related attendance matters.
- Field Trip preparations for first aid and medication management
- Other medically related duties as assigned
Administrative Coordinator
The Administrative Coordinator sets the tone for all students, parents, and visitors to the school and is often the chief hospitality officer for Greenhills and is expected to provide outstanding customer service in person, by phone, and by email. The primary responsibilities for this role include the answering of telephones and directing calls to the appropriate parties; greeting parents, students, and other campus visitors; providing information, assistance, and directions as needed; and processing attendance and other student arrival/dismissal information throughout the day. The Administrative Coordinator serves as a liaison between current parents and the School.
- Supports volunteer programs and activities for parents
- Support family events and programs
- Helps with school-wide family communications – editing letters as needed and planning appropriate channels of communication
- With the division heads and deans of students, oversees Attendance
- With the Head’s Office Administrative Coordinator, supports commencement, opening days, faculty PD days, and other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work is conducted primarily in an office and school environment
- May require extended time outside of the school day for communication with students and families during certain times of the season. Will require some summer time, reviewing medical paperwork in advance of the upper school athletic season. The summer review of annual physical, etc., can be completely remotely. The role is expected to be in the building for the start of the school year by August 8th when upper school sports begin.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and relevant training and/or license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Preferred qualifications include:
- Experienced in nursing, pediatric health care, public health work, or school nursing and able to be certified in CPR/AED
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment
- Experience with and enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- An ability to establish supportive relationships with all school constituencies, strong communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about adolescents’ intellectual, social, and emotional development and willing to positively greet the challenges and opportunities they present;
- Is discrete and able to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately
- Ability to serve in a diverse community of colleagues, students and parents
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, justice, diversity and equity
