Hannah Senesh Community Day School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a Lower School Hebrew teacher for our 2022-23 school year. Our Hebrew program is based on the Proficiency Approach, in which students learn through engagement with Israeli stories, authentic Hebrew texts and materials, songs, games, and celebrations while teaching critical skills related to the four strands of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Hebrew language lives in our classrooms, is woven into the fabric of our school program, and is purposeful and engaging.

The salary for this position is $60-70,000 commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching lower school heritage Hebrew classes and bridge class for new transfer students
- Differentiating instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners in the classroom
- Developing a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with grade-level team members on programs and supporting students
- Building partnerships with parents to support student progress
