ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS - Lower and Middle School
The Position:
The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for supporting the lower and middle school admissions process and procedures and serves as administrative support to the Admissions Office. The Assistant Director supports the lower and middle school Associate Directors of Admissions, reports directly to the Director of Admissions, and works closely with the entire admissions team. Evening and weekend work is required.
Key responsibilities include data and file management, applicant assessment, admissions performance tracking and funnel reporting, and timely and effective communication with various constituents. The role requires the ability to both work independently and collaboratively on various admissions and larger community tasks and projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the admissions process and procedures.
- Represent Nueva and provide appropriate, accurate, and timely information to applicant families, community-based organizations, and educators.
- Provide accurate and timely information to the staff and faculty.
- Support appointment scheduling for student and parent visits/interviews/testing.
- Accompany and/or lead parent and/or student tours/information sessions.
- Conduct parent and/or student interviews.
- Participate in and lead applicant observations and visits (on and off-site).
- Participate in and lead admissions reading and decision committees.
- Read and evaluate admissions files.
- Present the school to prospective families through virtual and in-person admissions events and workshops (including tours, program previews/open houses, diversity events, and other programs for applicants and applicant families).
- Manage and co-lead the Student Ambassador Programs.
- Prepare applicants’ files for admission committee members.
- Maintain accurate database of applicant information.
- Update and input admissions information, data, and statistics.
- Assist with the Admissions volunteer program and training (Nueva Parent’s Association, Students, Faculty, and Staff).
- Assist in coordination and implementation of outreach strategies and events.
- Work with consulting psychologists (PK-8).
- Participate in school meetings, events, and task forces to learn about the school and create strong relationships with faculty and staff.
- Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Three or more years of school admissions experience.
- Experience in early childhood and/or gifted education a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong, careful attention to details.
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple responsibilities simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional people skills and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently, collegially, and collaboratively. Positive team member.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competency in cross-cultural collaboration.
- Flexibility and creativity in working in a dynamic environment where new ideas, mistakes, and iteration are embraced.

- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Ravenna Solutions and/or Blackbaud a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Bilingual abilities– Spanish/English or Mandarin/English a plus.
