The Digital Art & Media Instructor is responsible for teaching content including Digital Art, Illustration, Animation, Graphic Design, and Film.
Skills and Competencies
- Proven commitment to the development of young people and their creative voices
- Expertise in the latest digital platforms, technologies, and trends
- Demonstrated engagement in ongoing professional development, scholarship, and other professional activities
- Proficient in Adobe Suite including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
- Recent training in issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to teach creatively and engage a diverse group of learners
- Sound knowledge of childhood development and pedagogy
- Experience in independent schools preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach various courses in digital art, illustration, graphic design, and Film at the upper school level
- Develop and implement inspiring and engaging projects for students in creative and differentiated ways
- Promote student engagement in the visual arts through annual arts showcases and exhibitions.
- Closely collaborate with Meadows faculty to support students, faculty, and families across divisions
- Share in the ongoing development and implementation of Meadows Arts initiatives, including student engagement and recruitment, ongoing curriculum analysis, and facilitating college placement
- Communicate student progress, schedules, and needs with parents via email, in student progress reports, and report cards
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in visual arts or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience teaching digital arts at the upper school level
- Experience working cross-divisionally
