About the Position: The Logan School for Creative Learning is accepting applications for a Upper Primary Lead Teacher for a mixed-age classroom of 1st and 2nd grade students. This teacher will work with an Associate Teacher and specialists to provide a student-centered educational experience. Responsibilities include developing an individualized curriculum for each student and leading one overnight trip each year.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee individual student units of study (our core curriculum), including coordinating individual student unit trips with unit trip teacher
- Plan and implement a class unit and other activities that provide students the opportunity to work together and to integrate subject matter
- Provide opportunities for student choice, exploration and problem solving
- Monitor academic skill growth of students
- Provide guidance in the areas of emotional and social growth, culture, and identity
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student needs and progress
- Supervise and support a full-time Associate Teacher
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- 4 year college degree and/or advanced degree.
- 3+ years teaching experience
- Experience and/or understanding of gifted education
Compensation: Salary range is $50-60k, dependent on experience. The Logan School provides full benefits, including a group health plan, TIAA retirement plan, dental, life, and disability to all full-time employees.
