About Trinity Episcopal School
Trinity Episcopal School is defined by its distinctive culture of community, acceptance, warmth and welcome. The faculty and staff at Trinity believe in the power of the potential that lies within each student. “Discover Your Path,” defines Trinity’s approach to learning and serves as a guide for daily practice. Trinity’s strength is affirmed each day when the community gathers for Morning Meeting, to make announcements, celebrate successes, and cement the connections that are integral to the school’s distinctive culture. This coeducational school of 475 students in grades 8-12, founded in 1972, occupies a unique niche in the greater Richmond area, where it draws students from more than 60 feeder schools. The collective clarity of purpose and strong, shared identity found at Trinity have enabled it to grow and flourish, with steady yearly increases in enrollment, programs, facilities and prominence in the area. Trinity, an International Baccalaureate World School, challenges its students to discover their paths, develop their talents and strengthen their character within a dynamic academic community. The culture encourages academic excellence, athletic achievement, and artis...tic expression within a community that values all success, celebrates each individual, and encourages engaged learning. Students practice honor and service in a climate of trust and respect, for the betterment of each individual and of the entire school. The 40-acre campus, located just south of the James River in suburban Richmond, Virginia, includes 32 classrooms, student commons, library, computer labs and technology center. New to the campus are the Estes Athletic Center and Aycock Stadium, completed in 2011, and the renovated Perkinson Arts Center, with new facilities for music and the visual arts, completed in 2013. The college-preparatory academic program features innovative electives, a rigorous curriculum and opportunities for creative expression. Trinity also fields more than 40 teams for athletic participation. Trinity is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. The annual operating budget is $8.5 million. Trinity is committed to an inclusive community that reflects the socioeconomic diversity of the greater Richmond area. More than 80% of parents support annual giving, which generates $375,000 for the operating budget each year. Since 2007, more than $7.5 million has been raised for capital improvements.
