Crossroads has an opening for a Secondary Admission Associate. We seek to hire a dynamic, highly organized, people-oriented person with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) orientation for a 10-month temporary assignment to fulfill these responsibilities.
Reporting to the Interim Director of Upper School Admission & Admission Operations, the Admission Associate is an essential part of the day-to-day operations and admission programs for approximately 600 Grades 6-12 applicants. This position serves as a highly visible admission team member, interacting with volunteers, students, applicant families, and faculty and staff.. Crossroads School is a complex, relationship-based, high volume organization, which requires the Admission office to maintain a visible profile on campus and a warm, customer-centered approach. The Admission Associate works closely with the rest of the Admission & Affordability team in many aspects of the admission process. The Secondary Admission Associate is part of a team of ten admission professionals on two campuses.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides friendly and informative customer service for all visitors and applicants from inquiry to enrollment
- Represents Crossroads School’s mission, programs, curriculum and philosophy effectively to prospective families, at fairs and other events
- Responds to grades 6-12 admission questions from applicant families via phone, email, and in-person
- Provides support for admission programs such as tours, open houses, interview days, and special events on the 21st Street campus
- Is a lead interviewer for Crossroads’ innovative Small Group Interview (SGI) program and potentially manages the Student Ambassador Program
- Serves on multiple admission committees, reading and evaluating the potential match of applicants
- Supports efforts in print and online communications along with social media
Required Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelors required
- Experience in admission, recruitment, or public-facing customer service with multiple stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated experience with simultaneous management of multiple constituencies and deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid orientation to database management and data tracking
- Strong cultural competency skills, orientation and affinity for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and track record of successfully working with families from diverse backgrounds
- A friendly, gracious, professional manner; willingness to learn; and growth mindset
- Impeccable ethics and a demonstrated commitment to confidentiality
- Professional or volunteer experience with middle/high school age students
