Position Objective:
The Educational Technology Coordinator will lead the technology in the classroom PK through 12th grade as it supports and promotes the mission of the school. The Educational Technology Coordinator instructs students, teachers and families in the appropriate uses of technology in an educational environment and designs, coordinates and provides instructional technology in-service opportunities for faculty and staff. This position will support all divisions of Léman. The Education Technology Coordinator will be responsible for modeling instruction in the classroom by working with groups or individual students, providing material and resources for teachers, students and parents to enrich the curriculum. The Educational Technology Director will demonstrate technologies for extending the curriculum content, as well as providing professional development. The Education Technology Coordinator is a critical role that links faculty, students, parents and administration. This person will be the point of contact for service delivery and student programming throughout all divisions. This position will also serve as the Library Information technology Department Chair.
The Educational Technology Coordinator is responsible for:
- Continue advancing Léman’s STEAM and Maker initiative in all divisions by implementing innovative strategies and collaborating with faculty of all content areas.
- The Educational Technology Coordinator will develop and implement technologies and systems to improve the educational experience of all students and increase the capacity of Léman faculty and staff to meet the students’ needs and implement current best practices in the field of technology integration.
- Teaching responsibilities include co-teaching with classroom teachers as needed, leading specific content-related weeks, such as Digital Citizenship workshops, Hour of Code week, etc. with students, faculty and families.
- Mentoring, collaborating, and coaching faculty, staff, and students on innovative technology tools and instructional strategies.
- Provide vision and development in the Early Childhood and Lower School WonderLab.
- Conduct and assist with in-service training for Léman faculty and staff, as well as parent workshops using school-wide platforms, including our Learning Management System.
- Submit resource materials to be considered for the annual school budget. [Weaker bullet]
- Comply with and support Léman school-wide and division regulations and policies, including the education of and compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) rollout to students each year in conjunction with the administration and Director of Technology.
- Remain updated on current research and [could use best practices here also - I would use in one place or the other] practice in the education technology field.
- Work collaboratively with the Technology Team to support, assess, and monitor technology resources and needs and implement process improvements.
- Work with the school Registrar on Léman’s Learning Management System and help train faculty, parents and students on its use. Run workshops and work with faculty around the year to aid in developing teacher class pages.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Required
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree. (Degree in the field of Education Technology preferred)
Experience
- Experience in teaching in a PK-12 classroom setting.
- Skilled in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) apps.
- Ability to support faculty in the use of technology in the classroom such as Zoom, document cameras, interactive boards, laptops, iPads, etc.
- Clear articulation of technology goals in curricular unit planning and in project integration.
- Strong collaboration skills, as well as the ability to be a self starter, be self motivated, looking ahead to propose upcoming projects, and work independently with minimal oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal relations skills: being a good listener, a curious and creative problem solver, and possessing solid written and oral communication skills.
