Montessori Lead Teacher (ages 3-6 years)

Position:

• Full-time Montessori lead teacher
• 10-month contract (Aug-June)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
  (Master’s and degree in early childhood education preferred)
• Montessori 3-6 certification
• Meets qualifications for licensure in Ohio
• Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum and Montessori philosophy in the 3–6-year-old classroom
• Collaborate in carefully preparing the Montessori classroom
• Proven ability as an educational leader working with young children (minimum 3 years teaching experience preferred)
• Create a culturally responsive teaching and learning environment to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child
• Perform essential functions of the position which include the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, and lift up to 25 pounds
• Commitment to the school’s virtues, mission, and professional standards
• Clear understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong classroom management skills
• Comfort with technology and vision for appropriate and purposeful incorporation into the curriculum
• Willingness to be a visible and involved participant in and supporter of the school community
• Skill and comfort working collaboratively and productively with all constituencies within the school community
• Experience collaborating with colleagues around lesson development, classroom management, student assessment, differentiation, etc.
