Overview
The Spence School seeks a part-time (25%) Upper School English and World Literature teacher to begin August 2022. This position represents an opportunity to join a team of teachers engaged in the ongoing development of a dynamic Upper School English and World Literature curriculum. The ideal candidate shows an appreciation for the craft of teaching critical thinking and analytical writing skills and regards collaboration with a community of adults as an essential component of professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Teach one section of Upper School English and World Literature
- Collaborate on a teaching team to design curriculum, assessments, and teaching methods
- Participate in department-wide initiatives concerning issues of equity, pedagogy, and curriculum

- Possesses a degree in English or equivalent experience
- Has sustained experience teaching Upper School English (Grades 9-12)
