Student Support 

• Develop, evaluate and optimize meaningful individualized student development plans for Cogita students. 
• Apply various student development theoretical models to track, assess and evaluate student personality and development growth and produce regular reports to students and parents.    
• Counsel and support students in the admission process (personalized education program, research, finding the “right fit” schools, essay brainstorming, essay review, application review, etc).
• Foster partnerships and maintain good working relationships with clients.
• Serve as a solid role model for students through all means of interaction. 
• Using our intercultural sensitivity development model to implement, improve upon, and tailor existing curricula and improve upon intercultural competence curriculum/webinars throughout the year especially for Chinese-speaking families for better adjustment to the US academic and social environment.

Organization and Professional Development

• Lead, coordinate, or provide assistance to special projects and initiatives to develop Cogita in its effort to educate students, families and schools. 
• Foster partnerships and maintain strong relationships with Cogita’s contacts all over the world through visiting U.S. boarding schools, college tours and connecting with admissions, headmasters, college counselors, etc. 
• Attend professional meetings and conferences such as IECA and NACAC to gain more professional development in education consulting and college admission to better educate families. 

Experience: A strong candidate has

• A minimum of a Master of Education or other graduate degree (mature and experienced Bachelor's degree holders may also apply)
• A minimum of 4 years experience in admissions counseling
• Worked in schools or awareness and appreciation of school systems
• Native skills in English, fluency in either Spanish or Chinese (preferred) 
• Competence in American, Asian, or Latin American cultures and education systems preferred
