The Summit Preparatory School is seeking an administrative professional in the following area:
Finance Officer
The Summit, located in Springfield, MO, is a fully accredited, independent, non-profit, co-educational day school meeting the learning needs of 160+ students, Early Learners through High School. It is characterized by its progressive, student-centered philosophy, academically challenging curriculum, personalized, “deeper learning” approach, motivated students, small class sizes, close-knit community of parents, and talented, dedicated faculty and staff.
The Summit is seeking a dedicated, dynamic professional to join a collaborative administrative team as the Finance Officer. This position is responsible for managing the financial operations of the school, family accounts, financial aid, and human resources. The Finance Officer reports directly to the Head of School. This is a full time position eligible for benefits.
Candidate Profile:
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills with an acute attention to detail
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
- Accessible, approachable, and welcoming, managing confidential situations with discretion, respect, and sensitivity
- Fosters a partnership between families, faculty, and staff to create a positive environment for students’ academic and social-emotional learning
- Respects, affirms, and protects the dignity and worth of each member of the community, and exhibits moral and ethical behavior
- Sets professional boundaries, collaborating with constituents within those boundaries
- Life-long learner who enhances his/her skills, using state-of-the-art technologies to maintain high standards of performance to efficiently and effectively produce work products
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business management, administration, finance or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of operations/finance experience (nonprofit sector or education preferred)
- QuickBooks expertise (required), FACTS system expertise (preferred)
- Human resources experience (required)
