Summary Description
The Bishop’s School seeks an engaging, collaborative, dynamic, and learner-centered history teacher (Grades 9-12) beginning August 2022. The department seeks candidates enthusiastic about working on and with teams rather than in silos, developing writing and research-based curriculum and skills, and analyzing the scope and sequence of the School’s history and social sciences curriculum. The ideal candidate will have the ability and flexibility to teach a range of courses based on departmental needs, including world and U.S. history, as well as an interest in developing and teaching upper-level electives in government and/or economics. Interest and experience in coaching co-curricular programs such as Mock Trial and Model United Nations would also be considered an asset. In addition to teaching, faculty serve as an advisor to students and offer daily office hours.
Desired Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in history or a related field is required; a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is expected. Interest in supporting current co-curricular programs and professional learning communities is also highly desirable.

- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community;
- Strong work ethic, time management, verbal, written language, and interpersonal skills;
