Foote School seeks an experienced Biology and Health/Wellness teacher to join its middle school faculty in the fall of 2022. Foote serves 455 students in kindergarten through ninth grades. Foote School is known for its strong science program, which is built upon a shared philosophy of discovery through inquiry and a commitment to hands-on work.
The successful candidate will be a nurturing, flexible person who has a passion for science and who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of children. The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and peers and to employ a variety of instructional techniques to engage young learners. The successful candidate will have a commitment to our school’s mission, demonstrating teamwork, collaboration and service to the school community.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field
- Training in Health/Wellness education
- Minimum 2-4 years teaching experience
- Experience in field, laboratory and classroom instruction
- Experience with project-based and experiential learning
- An understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students ages 11 through 15
- An interest in serving as an advisor to a group of middle school students
- Experience designing and implementing authentic assessment tools
- An ability to work with colleagues in the department and the school community to deliver a thoughtful and innovative science experience
- Experience using technology to enhance instruction and to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of critical role in supporting the work of the admissions office
