Position: Upper School Mathematics
Reports to: Upper School Academy Leader

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Upper School Mathematics educator that has both depth and breadth of content expertise to team with our Mathematics Department and Grade Level Academy Team. Applicants should have experience with student-centered educational practices, a broad array of assessment strategies, and be comfortable with teaching all levels of learners across all disciplines within Mathematics. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in higher level advanced courses as well as traditional Mathematics courses. An ability to teach Calculus would be highly attractive, but not a requirement for hire. S/he is expected to be proficient with various forms of communication and instructional technology. Applicants will also be expected to be involved with co-curricular activities and/or mentoring students. In addition, we are seeking applicants with experience in service-oriented, project-based learning. Most importantly, it is essential that the candidate believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “one team all in.”

? emphasizing the application of mathematical procedures, as well as skills related to problem solving, critical thinking and communication
? helping students to deepen their understanding and to practice new skills by providing opportunities for them to actively engage with content
? designing learning experiences that call for high levels of collaboration, discussion, and interaction amongst students
? focusing on the individual through differentiation, scaffolding, and opportunity for choice
? utilizing multiple assessment techniques to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative discipline (required)
- Master’s Degree in Math or Education (preferred)
- Certification in Secondary Math (preferred) with the ability to teach Algebra - Pre-Calculus courses
- 3+ Years of teaching experience (preferred)
- Current (dated within a year) clearances (can be obtained prior to start of next school year)
