Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in north Seattle, Washington, is currently recruiting for an administrative assistant. This position will provide primary administrative support to the Main Office, Lakeside Summer Programs, the Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion and the Professional Development team. This is a full time (1.0 FTE) full year appointment with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Summer hours may vary.
Main Office (academic year)
- Daily backup to upper school main office receptionist.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant to the Head of School to include scheduling and event planning.
- Commencement planning support.
- Board of Trustees support as needed.
- Ordering main office supplies.
Professional Development (academic year)
- Support for school wide professional development days to include event planning, travel management, purchasing supplies, tracking budget and managing master lists;
- Support for individual employee professional development opportunities which include budget management, event registration, travel planning, expense reporting, and coordination of professional development plans.
- Support for Curriculum and Technology Grants and Degree Advancement programs to include communications, proposal collection and distribution, proposal tracking, and expense reporting.
- Track faculty 3-year Professional Development Plans and make yearly edits.
- Support the Faculty Staff Academy program including submissions, fund disbursement, budget tracking, and event planning.
Diversity & Inclusion (academic year)
- Logistical support for conferences and student diversity programs and events to include registrations, forms, gathering information from travelers and coordinating with venues.
- Logistical support for All School Diversity Committee (ASDC) programs and events.
- Logistical support for the Back To School Bash and other events;
Summer Programs (summer)
- Assist Summer School Operations Manager in preparing orientation materials for Summer School Upper School and Investigative Learning Camp faculty orientations.
- Assist with office and classroom preparation at the beginning of the summer and with pack-up at the end of Summer School Programs.
- Assist Operations Manager with teacher supply requests.
- Distribute and collect attendance for Upper School classes.
- Supervise laptop check-out and check-in process.
- Manage Summer School Programs social media accounts.
- Assist Summer School Operations Manager with fielding parent, teacher, and student inquiries when they enter the Summer School office.
- Assist with implementing COVID safety protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications

- Prior experience working with a diverse student population and demonstrated equity and inclusion mindset. Candidates should be aware of their own identity and biases; candidate actively works to create an inclusive work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel;
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role; BA preferred; and
- First Aid and CPR certification obtained before July 5
- Successful completion of two criminal history background checks.
