Summary
The Librarian will work closely with the Director to support a dynamic Learning Commons for students in grades 5-12 and to ensure the library’s academic and technical resources advance the school’s educational program.
Essential Duties:
- Develops the print and eBook collection.
- Promotes reading for instruction and leisure through book talks, curated lists, readers’ advisory, etc.
- Builds and maintains LibGuides for courses and subjects.
- Connects students and faculty to relevant resources to meet information needs.
- Teaches information literacy and digital citizenship.
- Supports the Director with the library budget.
- Confers with faculty about the provision of appropriate materials for classroom instruction.
- Investigates and adopts technologies to improve services.
- Assists with textbook ordering, coordination, and distribution.
- Serves as a Middle School co-advisor or Upper School advisor (TBD).
- Processes books as needed. Copy cataloging occasionally required.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
A Master of Library Science degree or its equivalent from an ALA-accredited program is required although the degree may be in-progress at time of hire. Two years of related experience required. Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Google Drive Apps and Microsoft Office and capable of learning how to use relevant tools like Follett Destiny, LibGuides, Omeka S, etc. Additional technical skills are a plus and could be utilized in various ways to optimize workflows.
