St. Mary Academy-Bay View is seeking an Education Technology Specialist for the
2022-2023 school year. Bay View is recognized for its commitment to STEAM programming for girls and young women. The candidate is responsible for growing the school’s efforts for more experiential, challenging, creative, and project-based work integrating technology. The person hired for this job will collaborate with teachers across grade levels to enhance the use of technology and form community partnerships that bring opportunities for innovation and application of STEAM. The candidate will teach technology literacy and computer science in the Lower School. Candidates must be committed to an all-girls, Mercy education.
Qualifications:
? Champion project-based learning experiences, including interdisciplinary design
challenges including STEM and digital storytelling by working with faculty across all
grade levels
? Create and facilitate school-based, high-quality professional learning, working with
teachers to refine their knowledge and skills in using technology to support and
enhance teaching and learning
? Act as a technical mentor and guide to faculty in developing and maintaining new
technology-based platforms and programs to enhance instruction.
? Demonstrate ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning
experiences that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math with
core studies across the curriculum.
? Teach Computer Science classes in grades PK through 5 on computer basics and
procedures, coding, robotics, online research skills, creativity with tech tools,
software programs used at Bay View (e.g., Google Classroom), and beginning
coding.
? Has experience with tools such as Code.org's CS Fundamentals curriculum, Scratch
software, Edison, and KIBO robots.
? Advise teachers and families on digital citizenship and emerging technology trends
? Support teachers in integrating technology into lessons and projects
? Participate in ongoing professional development on emerging technologies, curriculum design, and pedagogies relevant to instructional technology
? BA/BS degree in computer science or related education, Master’s degree preferred

? The position also involves serving as an advisor, collaborating with a team of teachers
