The Human Resources Administrator is a vital role designed to provide best-in-class HR partnership and services, with a focus on advancing the recruitment, onboarding and retention functions. They are part of a high-functioning HR team, applying sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information, committed to continual process improvement, adapting to ever-changing employment laws and regulations, and exemplifying a positive, team-oriented approach to human resource service delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruiting, Onboarding and Retention
The HR Administrator primarily manages the staff recruitment processes and is a resource to the faculty recruitment team as needed. They manage the successful HR onboarding processes for all faculty and staff.
- Collaborates with the HR team to implement and continually refine recruiting, onboarding and retention systems;
- Collaborates with department heads and managers to update position descriptions and write job postings that effectively capture the position focus;
- Develops and maintains recruiting sources locally, regionally, and nationally to enhance the School’s recruitment efforts to attract talented and diverse candidates;
- Partners with hiring managers to build, understand, and grow talent pipelines; to manage recruitment project planning; to identify responsibilities and check in points;
- Trains hiring teams to use the applicant tracking system (ATS);
- Manages and executes the HR portion of the recruiting and hiring processes, including job posting, candidate sourcing and communication, interview scheduling, and onboarding;
- Continuously identifies and implements methods to improve the recruitment and hiring process with tools, interview guides, and access to interview training, ensuring equal employment opportunity at every stage;
- Coordinates the onboarding process with new hires and hiring managers in collaboration with the HR team;
- Manages and tracks the HR onboarding process for all new hires and rehires, primarily using the HRIS, ensuring all new hire paperwork, screening and system setups are complete prior to their first day;
- Schedules and assists with staff new hire orientation and supports faculty orientation as needed;
- Develops and implements a positive end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring it follows best-in-class practices, enthusiastically communicates the employment value proposition, and reflects the School’s mission;
- Facilitates communication plans for new hires and hiring managers as part of the onboarding process;
- Partners with the HR director to develop and implement a new hire orientation and engagement strategy for the first year of employment.
General Human Resources Responsibilities
The Human Resources team participates in a variety of responsibilities, enabling the office to efficiently prepare and flexibly respond as priorities shift.
- Consistently ensures compliance with Federal, State and local employment laws, regulations, and School policies;
- Maintains the HRIS (UKG/UltiPro) as needed, ensuring data integrity;
- Interprets employment policies, and relevant laws/regulations, escalating matters as needed;
- Actively engages as a member of the HR team in HR research, tasks, project development and implementation, reporting/analytics, and championing HR initiatives;
- Participates in continual process improvement;
- Creates and maintains an employment environment that fosters an environment of equity and inclusion;
- Additional duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or some college with equivalent HR experience.
- PHR certification is preferred and encouraged to obtain within the first 2 years.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with a specialization in recruitment and onboarding.
- Excellent understanding, experience and working knowledge of HR practices and procedures and a firm understanding of general employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
- Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor, develop and coach staff/faculty.
- Ability to manage and influence hiring managers on recruitment objectives.
- Excellent judgment, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence to effectively engage with a diverse community of faculty, staff, students and residential families.
- Exceptional organizational skills and accuracy with details.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrated project management abilities and strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and Google Suites.
- Strong knowledge and high level of comfort using HRIS and applicant tracking systems (UKG preferred), and ability to learn, implement and adapt to new technologies.
