Harbor Day School is seeking a full-time Middle School Associate Teacher (grades 5-8) for the 2022-2023 academic school year. The primary responsibilities of the Associate Teacher involve carrying out specific and delegated tasks assigned by various 5th - 8th grade middle school teachers. The Associate Teacher should also be able to take initiative in assessing classroom needs for academic progress and social development. The Associate Teacher will at times teach large or small groups of students. Desirable candidates will demonstrate strong teaching skills through computer proficiency, teaching aptitudes, communication, reliability, and attention to detail. Additionally, this position will teach social-emotional learning classes for sixth and seventh graders, as well as serve as a Middle School Advisor.

A four-year degree is required and a teaching credential is preferred. Prior experience in a middle school setting is desirable. Employment as an Associate Teacher does not guarantee a future lead teacher position.
