The Webmaster position reports to the Dean of Arts and Innovation. This position will manage the website and ensure that it meet the needs of our community, effectively communicating timely and accurate information to faculty, staff, current students, prospective students, alumni, parents, and the public. The Webmaster collaborates with content providers throughout the school to produce rich, appropriate, and dynamic content and edits authors’ work to ensure accuracy, universal access, and conformance with relevant style guides and standards. The Webmaster continually seeks innovative ways to present information, make the websites more engaging, and to foster information-sharing and collaboration within the school community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide technical design, development, and support for school's web services, adhering to relevant web standards and practices, including mobile browser compatibility.
- Design and develop web page templates and style sheets.
- Provide web consultation and support services for students, faculty, and staff.
- Stay current with online designs, new web technologies, and identify deployment opportunities.
- Train and guide faculty and staff to enhance their web development and publishing skills.
- Provide metrics and relevant analytics; develop and enforce content policies.
- Provide Webmaster e-mail support and response.
- Contribute to projects as a proactive team member.
- Act as liaison between website host (e.g. Finalsite) and all related web-based vendors and systems to improve user experiences across all platforms.
- Maintain and continue to develop a website branding book for EHS. This should include items such as appropriate typefaces, exact color formulas, hi-quality logos and images for use to include for designing their own pages across all platforms.
- Actively participate with and support the Communications Department, including ocassional design project and social media campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- Previous experience in schools preferred, but not required.
- Thorough understanding of website design principles and practices.
- Thorough understanding of content management principles and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of the teaching environment in an independent school.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with strong editing capabilities.
- Excellent website design and maintenance skills, implementing common web-based standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Ability to analyze problems and potential opportunities, and to devise appropriate solutions, enlisting the necessary resources and stakeholders for support.
- Professional behavior that is courteous, conscientious, and collaborative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Is required to view one or more LCD Panel displays reading text and focusing on graphic details.
- Frequent and repetitive keyboard operation is required.
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
- Works in a fast paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
