The Position
An energetic leader and essential member of the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the management of a sophisticated and highly successful annual fundraising program. Through strategic programming, thoughtful collaboration with advancement staff and management of volunteers, and the ability to think creatively, act flexibly, and lead boldly, the Director will engage and retain annual donors of all constituencies and work to identify and cultivate new prospects as leadership annual fund and major gift donors.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate for the Director of Annual Giving at The Episcopal Academy will possess the following:
- An understanding of institutional advancement work and knowledge of how to cultivate a philanthropic culture among all constituencies such as, but not limited to, parents and alumni
- Proven experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an annual fundraising campaign including the development of solicitations, segmentation, event planning, and volunteer management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience using print and digital mail, social media, video, and other forms of communication as a way to engage, solicit and steward an audience
- Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset
- Strong relationship building skills and an strong orientation towards collaboration
- The ability to work independently and take initiative, and to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and CRM systems
