Forest Ridge Academy seeks an experienced and collaborative leader to become its next Head of School starting July 1, 2023. An established and thriving school and community for students in preschool through eighth grade, we are programmatically and financially strong and poised for growth. Forest Ridge Academy, founded in 1982 and located in Schererville, Indiana, is the only independent preschool through Grade 8 school in Northwest Indiana and offers a program that combines a challenging curriculum in a warm, caring, and nurturing school environment. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an educational leader to join a strong, stable board and an experienced school staff to continue a legacy of educational excellence while promoting the school’s mission: to inspire a passion for learning, global awareness and diverse leadership, and strong values through a challenging curriculum and service to humankind.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
- School teaching and/or administrative experience
- Supervision and management experience
- Bachelor's of Arts or Science Degree (minimum )
- Broad and deep knowledge of child and adolescent development, leading practices in teaching and learning, and an understanding of current research and thinking in education
- Strong business and financial judgment and the ability to partner with staff and governance leaders in establishing creative solutions to financial challenges and opportunities
- Strong listening, communication, community-building, and problem-solving skills
