Notre Dame School of Manhattan seeks Full-Time Art Teacher for the 2022-23 School Year. Notre Dame School of Manhattan is a small, All-Girls’, Catholic, College Preparatory High School in the West Village
Notre Dame School of Manhattan offers a collegial, collaborative professional environment with curricular flexibility. The Art Teacher leads the following classes:
- Studio art classes at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels, including
- AP Studio Art
- AP Art History
Additional Responsibilities:
- The Art Teacher is responsible for displaying current student artwork throughout the building, in collaboration with the administration.
- The Art Teacher is involved with planning and incorporating art into the school’s student orientation days.
- The Art Teacher plans and coordinates an event to showcase student artwork once a year.
- The Art Teacher, with student assistance, provides decorative artwork occasionally for school events (i.e. Christmas Gala, School Plays)
- The Art Teacher works collaboratively with other staff on the school’s annual art and literary magazine.
- The Art Teacher organizes and manages a contest for artwork for the school’s annual Christmas card.
- The Art Teacher provides assistance for students pursuing arts programming citywide.
The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, an advanced degree, and familiarity with digital and graphic design. Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to bring a portfolio with their own and/or student artwork, along with contact information for two professional references.
