Island Pacific Academy is currently accepting resumes for the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for the 2022-2023 school year.
Reporting to the Secondary Principal, the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator integrates the principles of design thinking and technology into the Secondary curriculum. The Secondary Curriculum Coordinator will have an appreciation for working with Middle & High School teachers on developing student-driven projects and innovative learning activities in order to develop a “maker” culture that cultivates empathy, growth mindset, student self-advocacy, creativity, iteration, innovation, tinkering and entrepreneurship.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with the Secondary Principal to promote a culture of learning and student success by providing instructional leadership and coaching across subject areas.
- Assists the Secondary Principal in developing teacher schedules and the master calendar, including professional development days.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating staff development based on identified needs, current educational research, best practices and available curricular resources. Maintains a database and provides information about outside professional growth activities to faculty and staff.
- Assists in the management of textbooks, instructional materials and educational software on a regular cycle and works closely with departments to secure resources and manage budgets.
- Works collaboratively with the elementary curriculum coordinator and other stakeholders to align both vertically and horizontally scope and sequence.
- Reviews, provides feedback, and maintains course syllabi and unit plans submitted.
- Assists the Secondary Principal in reviewing grades reports at each grading period. Assists in the evaluation of grading and assessment upon student success.
- Works with the counseling department to implement standardized testing and leads data analysis.
- Works collaboratively with the Design Thinking Department Head and the Director of Technology to integrate hands-on learning experiences and technology integration into curricular designWorks with the Secondary Principal to establish the observational schedule and provide coaching sessions.
- Meets regularly with content area departments and individuals to support their unique needs in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Model lessons and/or co-teach lessons with teachers that demonstrate the best instructional strategies to use within the IPA curriculum.
- Other duties as assigned by Secondary Principal or their designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in curriculum and instruction, educational administration or related field
- Minimum 5 years of teaching. Administrative experience preferred
- Experience developing, organizing and implementing programs.
- Must have knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Google Suites, Google Classroom
