Pine Point School seeks an energetic, caring, and collaborative teacher to join our Early Childhood teaching team. Pine Point is committed to each child’s academic, emotional, and social development through inquiry-based, experiential learning activities that fully engage our students in the learning process. The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a progressive learning environment and be dedicated to the Pine Point School mission of helping students engage in developing a strong academic and ethical core, a lifelong curiosity about their world, and a commitment to reaching solutions creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately.
Pine Point’s preschool program welcomes three and four-year-old students into its full-day program. A successful candidate is excited to provide an environment that balances explicit instruction with fostering the energy and curiosity of young children while taking advantage of our outdoor learning spaces, which include open meadows, wooded trails, and access to a small pond. The responsibilities of this position include writing report cards/comments, conferencing with parents, participating in department and faculty meetings, and collaborating with our admissions office.
Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching children ages 3-5 years old
- Ability to lead young children through hands-on experiences with skill and joy
- Values teaching outside and is willing to “get a little messy.”
- Implements developmentally appropriate teaching practices
- Creates appropriately challenging academic literacy, science, art, and math experiences for young learners
- Integrates technology to enhance teaching and learning, including remote instruction as needed
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Knowledgeable of social-emotional philosophies that foster a strong, caring classroom community based on engaged learning and shared respect
- Warmth of personality, energy, a sense of humor, and a willingness and interest in participation in other aspects of the school community
