The Agnes Irwin School is an All-Girls College Preparatory Day School for Grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 with enrollment of approximately 600 students and is accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools. The school is located on 18 acres in Rosemont, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The Agnes Irwin School supports nearly 200 employees across six distinct administrative divisions and three academic divisions. The Agnes Irwin provides girls with a deep foundation in the humanities, mathematics and science, wellness, and athletics.
The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a Manger of Human Resources to serve as the primary Human Resource contact providing advice and counsel for human resources policies and administration for faculty and staff at The Agnes Irwin School. The position incumbent is responsible for providing overall direction of human resources operations and provides assistance to all employees. Additionally, this position provides a leadership role in advising the Chief Financial Officer and the senior leadership team concerning all aspects of the Human Resources function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the full employee “lifecycle” to ensure continuity of services and excellent customer service across the Agnes Irwin School (AIS)
- Manage AIS recruitment process and procedures; train faculty and staff on hiring process, interviewing techniques and lawful questions; attend job fairs and recruiting events as appropriate
- Manage employees onboarding and offboarding process, responsible for maintaining human resource information system and confidential personnel files
- Manage healthcare insurance benefits for all employees and retirees
- Monitor compensation for faculty and staff, consulting with Chief Financial Officer
- Responsible for position management to include entering employee data, maintain accurate records, and generate reports using the Bamboo HR and ADP Workforce Now payroll and HR system
- Responsible for leave management to include recording and monitoring all leave, entering employee leave data, maintain accurate leave records, and generate reports using the ADP workforce now payroll and HR system

- Support AIS Learning and Development initiatives for human resources to include relative staff training
- Manage employee relations; provide counsel to employees and supervisors on performance, discipline, and areas of concern; consult with supervisors on performance improvement plan
- Oversee the ADA interactive process
- Manage all aspects of FMLA, STD and LTD leaves including completion of all required paperwork, ongoing communication, and tracking or leave for accurate payroll and benefit delivery during leaves
- Oversee third-party contractor clearance and mandated training compliance
- Ensure delivery of federal and state mandated training to include coordination, communication, and tracking
- Consult with legal counsel when appropriate and/or when directed by Head of School regarding personnel or compliance issue
Successful candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in human resources or organizational development preferred and a minimum seven (7) years of progressively more responsible positions in human resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Highly developed teamwork skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and critical thinking
- Expert in employment law and employee relations communication; SHRM certification desirable
- Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful and strategic advice and input across the organization and on the executive level
- Ability to lead in an environment of change
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Suite; prior experience with Bamboo HR and ADP Workforce Now highly desirable
