The Ellis School, the only pre-K to grade 12 independent day school for girls in Pittsburgh, PA, has an opening for a part-time, salaried early childhood educator for the 2022-2023 school year. Responsibilities for this role include supporting the lead teachers on the teaching team; contributing to creating a warm, joyful classroom environment that promotes connection and community by supporting student in their interactions with each other and cultivating a teamwork mentality; supporting all aspects of a student’s growth - social, emotional, and cognitive and participating fully in the life of the school by working in collaboration with colleagues, fulfilling duties, attending events, in-service days, and weekly meetings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a dedicated and dynamic teaching professional who understands and embraces the whole child approach to learning. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, possess an enthusiasm for working with and teaching young children, as demonstrated by prior experience in an early childhood setting, be adept at encouraging student interaction and collaboration, have a strong sense of school community and teamwork, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ideal candidates will also have experience working effectively on a teaching team.
